• What day is trash collected?

  Trash pick up is on Tuesdays, with heavy trash pickup on the last Tuesday of each month. There is a sliding schedule in weeks with a federal holiday on Monday. For more information and additional trash holidays, go to Mayor's Action Center website.

• What about recycling?

  Curbside recycling, which occurs on alternate Tuesdays, is not provided by the City of Indianapolis. If you wish to enroll in curbside recycling (for a fee), go to Republics website. If you prefer, you can drop off your recyclable materials for free at Broad Ripple Park and other locations around the city. For a list of those locations, go to Mayor's Action Center.

• I'd like to volunteer, how can I get involved?

  We are always in need of volunteers! For our annual events, such as Summer Fest and the Community Dog Walk, we need help with planning, advertising, set up, tear down and volunteer shifts during the event. For neighborhood projects such as infrastructure, crime watch and prevention and beautification, we need you to participate in a committee and help us move these and other projects forward. • Who should I contact for potholes or other complaints?

  The Mayor's Action Center is the place to report not only potholes but a whole range of other issues (abandoned cars, wildlife, etc.). You can do this one of 3 ways - call 317-327-4MAC, make an online request at http://maps.indy.gov/RequestIndy/ or download the free Request Indy mobile app.
